EARLY DETECTION AND HEALTHY FOOD INNOVATION PREVENT HYPERTENSION FOR THE FATAYAT NU WOMEN COMMUNITY IN MALAYSIA

PkM International activities by collaborating with one of the communitiesyoung female nahdlatul ulama aged 20-45 years, namely Branch LeadersSpecial (PCI) Fatayat NU. Together with the founding of the NU organization inMalaysia, Fatayat NU has been established for more than 20 years in Malaysia and hasadministrators and members who are Malaysian and Indonesian citizens.
NHMS (National Health and Morbidity Survey) 2023 in Malaysia reportsthat around 29.2% of hypertension is experienced by young adults.The age of Fatayat NU administrators and members is included in the adult categoryyoung therefore, the UMI PkM team and PCI partner Fatayat NU Malaysiaagreed to take strategic steps so that the management and membersequipped with knowledge about preventing hypertension so that it is implementedhypertension prevention education. Apart from education, PCI Fatayat NU is also providedskills in processing Moringa leaves (Moringa Oleifera) as an alternativeHerbal medicine lowers blood pressure and can be a substancecontrolling blood pressure through proper processing to avoidhypertension. This activity was carried out by innovating leaf preparationsMoringa is a healthy snack in the form of pudding and infusion of Moringa leaves.
Dian Astuty Pratiwi, Chair of PCI Fatayat NU Malaysia welcomed the activityThis partnership is very beneficial for increasing knowledge andawareness of management and members in carrying out early detection andprevention of hypertension. โWe really appreciate the partnershipimplemented by the UMI campus, hopefully this partnership will provide benefitsas widely as possible to the management and become one of the strategic programsFatayat NU Malaysia will be an extension of the government in the futurein educating the public to avoid hypertensionespecially for young people in Malaysia who are currently increasinglyincrease".
Hypertension is a silent killer and is a risk factor for the emergence of diseaseothers such as kidney failure, diabetes, stroke therefore, it is very important tocarry out early detection of hypertension. Often people who experience hypertensionextreme avoidance of certain foods that have the potential to trigger themthe occurrence of malnutrition even though there are various healthy snack alternativescan still be consumed without worrying about rising blood pressure. Based on resultsresearch, Moringa pudding and Moringa leaf infusion have been proven to be effectivemaintain blood pressure to remain normal. According to partnersSo far, Moringa leaves are only consumed as a vegetable, even though they are availablevarious alternatives for processing Moringa leaves with extraordinary benefitsOne of them is to prevent hypertension. Participants in this activity aremembers and administrators of the organization, resource persons by the service team andfacilitated by companions mandated by partners. Nurul Ulfah Mutthalibas head of the service team with the team Sitti Hadryanti Hamang and AndiAsrina hopes that partners will be able to duplicate this activityother communities so that the benefits and alternatives for processing Moringa leaves can be obtainedknown to other communities, especially to all administrators andmembers of the NU organization in Malaysia as the parent organization Fatayat NU in
