Kalukuang II Makassar Elementary School Teachers Trained to Become Creative and Inspirational English Teachers

In an effort to improve the quality of education in Makassar, the service team from the Indonesian Muslim University initiated training for Kalukuang II Makassar State Elementary School teachers, Saturday, October 12 2024.  The training entitled "Increasing Teacher Competency to Strengthen Student Character Education Through Fun English" aims to equip teachers with more effective and enjoyable English teaching skills.

The activity was chaired by Dr. Hj. Syamsidar, M. Hum, this was attended by all teachers at SD Negeri Kalukuang II Makassar, including the Principal, Nur Arif, Ms., S.Pd., M.Pd. Another service team who took part in this activity was Dr. Abdollah, MM., M. Pd, and Dr. Salim Hasan, S. Ag., M. Pd.I, and two students.

In his remarks, this training focused on approachFun Englishbecause the service team realizes that the conventional teaching methods that have been applied so far are not able to motivate students to learn English. With approachFun English, it is hoped that students can learn English more fun and effectively, so that they can increase their learning motivation and achievement. During the training, teachers were invited to participate in various interesting activities, such as role-play, group discussions, and presentations.

The service lecturer team hopes that this activity can provide a sustainable positive impact. Teachers are able to improve students' English teaching skills, apply more varied learning methods, increase students' learning motivation, and shape students' better character. With better quality teaching, it is hoped that students will be able to master English well and be ready to face global challenges.
