UMI Lecturer Innovation Transforms SMK Negeri 6 Bulukumba with Cloud Technology
SMK Negeri 6 Bulukumba, South Sulawesi โ The Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) lecturer team has successfully implemented the Community Service (PKM) program which focuses on implementing cloud technology to increase the school's attractiveness. This activity, led by Ramdaniah, S.Kom., M.T., MTA from the Informatics Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Computer Science, UMI, has had a positive impact on the school's digital development.
In its implementation, the service team which also consists of Ir. Bayu Adrian Ashad, S.T., M.T. from the Electrical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, UMI, has presented a comprehensive technological solution for SMK Negeri 6 Bulukumba. This program includes three main components: creating a cloud-based school website, website operational training for teachers and staff, and training in creating school promotional content.
The school website developed with cloud technology not only provides a strong digital presence for SMK Negeri 6 Bulukumba, but also provides a platform that is scalable and easy to manage. Through a series of training sessions, teachers and school staff have been equipped with the technical skills necessary to operate and update the website independently.
Another innovative aspect of this program is training in creating promotional content using the Canva application. Participants are trained to produce attractive and professional visual materials, which can be used both on school websites and other social media platforms. This provides added value in efforts to increase the visibility and attractiveness of schools in the digital era.
The Principal of SMK Negeri 6 Bulukumba, Baharuddin, S.Pd., M.M., expressed his deep appreciation for the implementation of this program. "This PKM program really helps our school in increasing digital capacity. We are very grateful to the service team from UMI who have made a significant contribution to the development of our school," he said.
The success of this program shows the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and secondary schools in facing the challenges of the digital era. It is hoped that the implementation of cloud technology and human resource capacity development carried out through this program can become a model for similar programs in the future. This PKM program also reflects the commitment of Indonesian Muslim University lecturers in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in the aspect of community service. Through this program, UMI has made a real contribution to improving the quality of education in South Sulawesi.
