Provisions of Islamic Sharia regarding Unlucky Days to Get Married in Bontomatene sub-district, Segeri sub-district, Pangkep regency
UMI Makassar Islamic Faculty lecturers carried out Community Service (PkM) "Provisions of Islamic Sharia for Unlucky Days to Get Married" in Bontomatene sub-district, Segeri sub-district, Pangkep district.
Lecturers involved in implementing PkM consist of Dr. Said Syaripuddin Abu Baedah, Lc., M. HI, (Chairman) and their respective members namely Dr. Syarifa Raehana, S. Ag., M. Ag, and Dr. Nur Farida Hamid, MA.
The lecturers gave religious lectures regarding Islamic sharia guidelines regarding the prohibition of hanging the fate of marriage on days that are considered unlucky, namely through the implementation of PkM (Community Service). The implementation of the PkM, which is scheduled to take place over three meetings, aims to broaden the insight of members of the Baiturrahman taklim assembly about the importance of straightening out their beliefs, as well as prioritizing rational considerations in carrying out celebrations such as weddings.
This service activity uses a workshop method, namely providing counseling through interactive lectures, in order to increase partners' education and knowledge regarding the provisions of Islamic law regarding the prohibition of hanging the fate of a marriage on a day that is considered unlucky, because this constitutes an act of khurafat. Public understanding and awareness regarding the prohibition of committing acts of khurafat can be increased in various ways, one of which is conducting counseling to increase public knowledge and awareness about the urgency of understanding the provisions of Islamic law in assessing and choosing the day or month to hold a celebration such as a wedding.
Head of the Bontomatene sub-district office, Abdullah Umar, ST., in his speech expressed his thanks and support for the presence of three UMI Islamic Faculty lecturers who carried out PkM in the Bontomatene sub-district and fostered members of the Baiturrahman ta'lim council.
"Thank you and appreciation to the 3 FAI lecturers who were present to provide religious guidance to our community, namely Majlis Ta'lim Baiturrahman, Bontomatene sub-district," he said.
It was further said that the PkM UMI Lecturer would provide education to the public, especially on issues related to the beliefs or beliefs of some people regarding the existence of a connection between the future of marriage and the day or month chosen to hold the celebration.
Head of the UMI PkM Team, Dr. Said Syaripuddin Abu Baedah, said that the implementation of PkM activities which carried the theme of the need to straighten out religious understanding in determining the day for a celebration, could not be separated from an analysis of the social and religious conditions of the people of Bontomatene sub-district, who generally still had minimal knowledge about aqidah issues. For example, there are still people who believe that the good fortune of a marriage is determined by the day or month in which the marriage takes place. "Because of that, we need to be careful in providing justification regarding the existence of a relationship between the fate of marriage and the day or month chosen to hold the celebration, because this concerns matters of faith," he stressed.
Meanwhile, member of the PkM Team, Nurfaridah Hamid stated that implementing PkM activities involving the taklim assembly as a partner was a very strategic step in socializing religious doctrine related to the PkM theme. "Because, majlis taklim is a forum or vehicle for Islamic preaching which is purely a religious institution, and as a tool as well as a medium for fostering religious awareness," he said.
