Strategic Collaboration between LPkM UMI and Makassar City Environmental Service as a Real Form of UMI in Supporting Regional Development

Makassar, 18092025 — The Indonesian Muslim University Community Service Institute (LkPM) collaborates with the Makassar City Environmental Service (DLH) and was attended directly by the Head of the Environmental Service,Dr. Helmy Budiman, S.STP., M.M. as well as Chair of the Community Service InstituteDr. Drs. H. Abd. Rauf Assagaf, M.Pd, also collaborated with Bosowa University which was attended by the Chancellor of Bosowa University Prof. Dr. Ir. Batara Surya ST, M. Si along with the Head of LPPM Dr. Ir. Syahrul Sariman, M.Si.

Through this collaboration, LPkM UMI will play an active role in providing academic and technical contributions through studies, analysis and assistance in various activities that can support each other in order to increase participation in the fields of Education, Research and Community Service in order to support Makassar City as a superior, inclusive, safe and sustainable city.

The Chair of LPkM UMI said that this collaboration was a concrete manifestation of the role of universities in supporting regional development, especially in environmental aspects.

"Through this activity, we want to ensure that the results of the collaboration carried out are relevant to real conditions in the field and can be implemented effectively by the government and society," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of DLH Makassar City welcomed this collaboration as a strategic step in increasing collaboration with universities in Makassar City which continues to grow.

This activity is also part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in the aspect of community service, as well as supporting the achievement of sustainable development targets (SDGs) in the environmental sector.
