LPkM (Community Service Institute) UMI Conducts Community Service in Pucak Village, Maros

Every year, LPkM facilitates UMI lecturers to carry out community service in partner areas, one of which is Pucak Village, Maros. This activity was carried out by a team of lecturers including Apt. Wisdawati, M.Si and Andi Trihadi Kusuma, M.Si. This time there are two community service titles promoted by the UMI Faculty of Pharmacy lecturer service team, namely "Utilization of Plants in Pucak Village as Ingredients for Health Drinks". Not only do we provide counseling and training on making herbal medicine, we also provide how to make packaging for herbal drink products that are more attractive so they can be marketed. Apart from that, in this activity also Mr. Apt. Andi Trihadi Kusuma Kisra also provided counseling regarding how to obtain Halal Certification for food and beverage products.

"This activity is a routine activity every year which aims as a service activity by lecturers to share knowledge in the community so that they can become an independent community that can process surrounding materials into economic value." Wisdawati said as the leader of the Lecturer team in this activity. The target community for this activity is the PKK women of Pucak Village.

The ingredients and method for making this health drink are very easy, consisting of ginger, galangal, turmeric, lemongrass, lime juice and enough honey as a sweetener. According to the results of the hedonic test from the participants present, in terms of taste, the appearance of this herbal medicine was liked by the participants, unlike the very bitter taste of other herbal medicines.

It is hoped that from this activity, the people of Pucak Village can make this herbal product a product that can be marketed in Pucak Village as one of the tourist villages in Maros.
