
LPMD Collaborates with Education and Culture Department to Train Functional Literacy Tutors
UMI Makassar โ Chair of the UMI Institute for Community Service and Da'wah (LPMD) Prof. Dr. H. Salim Basalamah opened Functional Literacy Tutor Training and SPD/TPD in collaboration with the Provincial Education and Culture Office. South Sulawesi with the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) Makassar, in the LPMD meeting room, UMI Tower Building, 3rd floor, Tuesday 18 August 2015.
The training lasted a day, attended by 20 people, consisting of 10 tutors and UMI Village Service Scholars (SPD) and 10 UMI Village Service Personnel (TPD) from UMI's partner villages, namely Kab. Jeneponto, Takalar, North Luwu, East Luwu, Tana Toraja, Enrekang, Maros and Gowa.
Chairman of the UMI Community Service and Da'wah Institute (LPMD) Prof. Dr. H. Salim Basalamah said, this training is very useful for improving the quality of tutors, because they are the spearhead in assisting the community, in order to increase people's knowledge, especially reading and writing.
"What tutors and village service workers do is noble work because thanks to their functional role, the dignity of the community in remote villages can be raised, and their level of welfare can increase," he stressed.
While attending the training, they will receive material, including Government Policy in Implementing Functional Literacy Programs in South Sulawesi by Drs. H. Djamal Abdi, M.Pd Head of PNFI, Ministry of Education and Culture, South Sulawesi, Methods for Implementing Functional Literacy by Drs. Syafri, M.Pd, Assessment and Reporting by Ir. Annas Boceng, MSi, Duties and Roles of Village Service Scholars and Village Service Personnel in UMI Fostered Partner Villages by Drs. H. Abd. Rauf Assagaf, M. Pd, and Entrepreneurship by Prof. Dr. H. Salim Basalamah.
