LPMD UMI Improves the Quality of Lecturer Service Proposals
UMI Makassar – In order to achieve the vision of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) Makassar as a World Class University (WCU), balance is needed in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
Apart from teaching, lecturers are required to carry out more research and community service. This was conveyed by the Chancellor of UMI, Prof.Dr. Hj Masrurah Mokhtar, MA when opening the Community Service Proposal Preparation Training event for UMI Lecturers (9/3) in the Community Service and Da'wah Institute (LPMD) hall, 3rd Floor, UMI Tower.
He continued, it is hoped that this activity can broaden insight and open the horizons of thinking of UMI permanent lecturers in preparing proposals for community service and at the same time motivate UMI lecturers.
"And especially novice lecturers, through service, are able to shape the lecturer's character and the knowledge gained can be useful," said the Linguistics Professor at the Faculty of Letters.
Meanwhile, in his report, the Head of LPMD Prof. Dr. H Salim Basalamah, SE., MSi said that this activity was attended by 53 lecturers from all faculties and equivalent faculty programs at UMI. The material provided included Procedures for Making IBM and IBW Proposals (Prof. Dr. Mulyadi), Procedures for Making PPM KKN Proposals (Dr. Ir Yahya, MT), Technical Implementation of Community Service Proposals (Dr. Ir Netty, M.Si), and Motivation for Preparing Service Proposals (Prof. Dr. H Salim Basalamah).
Prof. Salim Basalamah also explained that the development of UMI lecturer proposals funded by Dikti has experienced progress every year, in 2014, as many as 20 proposals were proposed and 111 of them were funded by Dikti and in 2015 there was also an increase with 22 proposals. Therefore, he hopes that this year, with a total of 53 participants, it is hoped that 75% will pass and be funded by Dikti.
