Facilitating the Compilation of UD Development Viability Assessment Studies. Baebunta Rice Factory, North Luwu Regency

Makassar, 12 November 2024 โ€“ A team of lecturers from the Faculty of Industrial Technology, Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) Makassar carried out a community service program in Langkaso Village, Baebunta District, North Luwu Regency. This activity was led by Ir. Muhammad Fachry Hafid, S.T., M.T., with members Ir. Ahmad Padhil, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., and supported by two students from the UMI Industrial Engineering Study Program.

In this activity, Fachry highlighted the importance of entrepreneurial knowledge as the main basis for starting, managing and developing a business. According to him, an entrepreneur not only needs creativity, but also skills in management, marketing and the ability to take risks. Apart from that, a planned strategy with a long-term vision is the key to surviving in the competitive business world. With this provision, business actors will be more resilient in facing various challenges.

Ahmad Padhil added that understanding financial reports is no less important in running a business. Financial reports help provide a comprehensive picture of a business's financial condition, so that business actors can monitor cash flow, project income, manage expenses, and plan strategic steps to increase profits.

Fachry also emphasized that the combination of entrepreneurial insight and good financial report management will open up greater opportunities for business actors to achieve success. Not only that, this step can also encourage the creation of new jobs and strengthen the national economy. These two elements complement each other in realizing a sustainable business. Without sufficient understanding, businesses will be vulnerable to various risks. Therefore, this knowledge is very important to create a business ecosystem that is healthy, competitive and able to survive in the future.

Meanwhile, the owner of UD Baebunta Rice Factory, Andi Iwan Andi Mappiabang, expressed his appreciation for the contribution of the UMI team in supporting the development of entrepreneurial insight and financial reporting in Langkaso Village.

"We hope that this activity can continue and have a wider positive impact on the community, especially in Langkaso Village," he said.

In closing, the UMI community service team expressed their gratitude to the UMI Chancellor, represented by the Chair of the Community Service Institute, Prof. H. Dirgahayu Lantara, for the funding support that has been provided so that this activity can run smoothly.
