Ex. Berua District. Biringkanaya Makassar City, Thursday, September 25 2025 at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Fitrah UMI FEB lecturers held a PkM activity: Training on making cassava nuggets as a healthy food
The implementation of the activity began with a pre-test to determine the participants' initial level of knowledge regarding training in making cassava nuggets as a healthy food with economic value and high selling value. After that, participants received educational material, and how to process cassava as well as practice and demonstrations until it becomes a ready-to-eat product.
Head of the implementing team, Prof. Dr. Serlin Serang, SE., M.Si accompanied by members Prof. Dr. Hj. Syamsu Nujum, SE., M.Si, and students A. Fitrih Azzahrah Aspar and A. Aulia Rachmadani Asfar said that this activity aims to empower teachers at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Fitrah in the field of creative economy, and practice how to make cassava nuggets as a healthy food into a product with marketable value and open up home business opportunities.
Apart from educational activities, the team also handed over several educational supporting assets to the Partner Group, including frying pans, frying filters, water basins, knives and tongs. It is hoped that these assets can be utilized by the Partner group of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Fitrah Kel. Berua District. Biringkanaya Makassar City to support the sustainability of the cassava nugget making program.
This PkM activity was attended directly by the Head of Mitra Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Fitrah, Mrs. Risnawati, S.Pd. Welcoming this PKM activity by presenting 13 PKM participants and giving positive appreciation and assessing that this activity not only broadens the horizons of the Partner group in making cassava nuggets, but is also a real step in fostering an entrepreneurial spirit so that it can become a business opportunity that can help improve the community's economy.
At the end of this activity, the Head of the Community Service Team expressed his thanks to the Indonesian Muslim University Community Service Institute (LPkM) for funding support as well as to the Al-Fitrah Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Partner group as Partners who have built collaboration so that this activity was carried out well and smoothly.
