Mentoring Training on the Formation of Students' Character Values ​​at MTs Pesantren Darul Arqam Gombara Makassar

The UMI Faculty of Islamic Community Service Lecturer Team conducted mentoring training at Mts Darul Aram Gombara, Makassar, chaired by Subaedah with members of the lecturer team (Dr. which took place from September 17 to December 21 2024. During the 4 months PkM theme carried out mentoring training 6 times.

According to Subaedah as team leader, Community Service (PkM) as a realization of the tri dharma of higher education at UMI Makassar must be carried out by all lecturers as human resources at the university level. The service is carried out in the form of character building assistance training for students at the Darul Arqam Gombara Makassar Penitentiary. The training to assist students in character building in Gombara aims to increase students' understanding of the importance of good character, especially the values ​​of empathy, responsibility and religion, building positive character values ​​by providing students with effective methods in building students' character, such as the values ​​of honesty, discipline, responsibility, hard work and empathy.

Apart from establishing the value of honesty, this mentoring also aims to provide knowledge and strategies to educators about the right approach in developing students both in the classroom and outside the classroom, so as to create a learning environment that is conducive to the growth and development of students' character.
