
Utilization of Young Papaya into Processed Products "Fruit Chips" in Alerang Hamlet, South Bontolangkasa Village, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency
The Chief Executive of PkM Activities for UMI Lecturers in Alerang Hamlet, South Bontolangkasa Village, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency is Sitti Rahmi Razak, SE., MM. accompanied by member Mrs. Hj. Sahari, S.E., M.M, who is a lecturer in Economics at the UMI Management Study Program, and was accompanied by two UMI students. This activity was attended by several levels of society, such as the Secretary of South Bontolangkasa village, Mr. Muh. Naim Suro S. Sos, PKK women, Farmers Group and local communities as well as from other hamlets.
The implementation of this PkM carries the theme "USE OF YOUNG PAPAYA INTO A PROCESSED PRODUCT "FRUIT CHIPS" IN ALERANG HILL, BONTOLANGKASASEL VILLAGE, BONTONOMPO DISTRICT, GOWA DISTRICT".
South Bontolangkasa Village Secretary Mr. Muh. Naim Suro, S. Sos said in his speech "Alerang Hamlet, South Bontolangkasa Village, Bontonompo District is one of the papaya fruit producing places in Gowa Regency. Therefore, to increase the economic value which can help improve the community's economy, the processing of young papaya fruit into quality food products needs to be carried out through outreach and training programs in making chips for the people of Alerang Hamlet."
This outreach activity is part of the community service program routinely carried out by UMI lecturers to encourage local entrepreneurship. This is in line with the university's vision to become an institution that not only excels academically, but also has a direct impact on society.
According to the Chief Executive of Community Service Activities (PKM) Sitti Rahmi Razak, SE., MM, "It is hoped that this community service activity will provide skills, knowledge and business management tips to the community, especially for PKK mothers, housewives and young women who are interested in the young papaya processing product business."
