
Empowering PKK Women in Padanglampe Village Through Entrepreneurship Training Based on Local Potential
Pangkajene and Islands, 16 October 2025 — The Lecturer Service Team of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) Makassar through the UMI Community Service Institute (LPkM) carried out Community Service (PKM) activities in Padanglampe Village, Ma'rang District, Pangkajene and Islands Regency (Pangkep). This activity is part of the UMI Assisted Village program which aims to increase the capacity and independence of village communities through educational and applicable activities. The service team consists of Dr. Muhammad Fadhil Hamzah, S.ST., M.M. as team leader, and Fifi Nurafifah Ibrahim, S.E., M.Ak. as a member.
This training activity was attended by PKK women from Padanglampe Village who played an active role in exploring and developing the village's local potential, such as agricultural products, processed food and traditional handicrafts. Participants are given training on the basics of k
entrepreneurship, product innovation, simple financial management, and digital marketing strategies.
Through this activity, it is hoped that PKK women will be able to develop independent businesses based on local potential to improve family welfare and the village economy.
Apart from training, the service team also produces a Local Potential-Based Entrepreneurship Module as an activity output that can be used sustainably by the community and village government to support small business development. This activity received a positive response from village officials and the local community who hope that similar programs can continue as an effort to build economic independence and empower women in rural areas.
