Development of Digital-Based Accounting Entrepreneurship to Increase the Capacity of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises

Padanglampe, 16 October 2025 โ€” UMI Faculty of Economics and Business lecturers through the Indonesian Muslim University Community Service Institute (LPkM) are again carrying out service programs through Assisted Village activities with the theme "Development of Digital-Based Accounting Entrepreneurship to Increase the Capacity of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)". This activity was attended by business people and the PKK Women's group in Padanglampe Village, Ma'rang District, Pangkep Regency.

This program is led by Nurfadila, SE., M.Si as team leader with Dr. Ajmal, SE., MM, both of whom are lecturers at the UMI Faculty of Economics and Business. This training aims to equip MSME players with the ability to manage finances digitally to be more effective, accurate and ready to face the challenges of the technological era.

The activity took place in the Padanglampe Village Office Hall and presented educational sessions, digital accounting application practice, and direct assistance. Participants are taught to use simple accounting applications for recording transactions, making financial reports, and more professional business management.

The results of the program implementation show an increase in participants' ability to understand and apply digital accounting in their businesses. Participants begin to be able to prepare financial reports systematically, monitor cash flow, and understand the importance of digital literacy for business development. Not only that, participants also gained insight into online-based product promotions as an effort to expand marketing networks.

The Head of the Service Team, Nurfadila, SE., M.Si, explained that digitizing accounting is a strategic step in increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs. "The implementation of digital accounting not only makes recording easier, but also helps business actors make more precise and transparent decisions," he said.

However, the team also noted several obstacles, such as participants' limited digital literacy, lack of technological infrastructure, and lingering manual habits. However, this obstacle becomes an evaluation material for implementing further assistance and strengthening partner capacity in the future.

This activity is expected to be an important foundation for the digital transformation of Padanglampe Village MSMEs. LPkM UMI is committed to continuing to encourage adaptive, innovative and sustainable community empowerment programs so that they can have a real impact on improving the village economy.
