Improving the Skills of Local Workers Aligning Competencies with the Needs of Advanced Industries in Selangor Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Institute for Research and Community Service LPKM Muslim UniversityIndonesia UMI Makassar continues to show commitment to empowermentcommunity through international service activities. At Sri Bayu Apartment,Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the service team led by Prof. Dr. H.Achmad Gani successfully held an activity entitled "Skills ImprovementLocal Workforce Aligns Competencies with Advanced Industrial Needs.”

This activity was held as a real effort to answer world challengesModern work requires workers to have competencies according to needsadvanced industry. This training involved dozens of participants from the Unity communityResidents of Sri Bayu Apartments as partners in implementing activities.

Prof. Dr. H. Achmad Gani with his TIM member, Dr Muh Arif, SE., MP. and Dr. Ismail,SE., MP. emphasized that strengthening human resource capacity is keyimportant in facing the era of global competition.

“Local workers need to continue to improve their skills to be able to compete in the worldadvanced industry. Through this training, we want to equip participants with knowledgeand relevant skills, so that they have high competitiveness," said Prof.Gani.

Training material includes mapping of the latest industrial competency needs, strengtheningsoft skills and hard skills, provision of a professional work ethic, as well as practical sessionsdesigned according to modern industrial standards. This approach is expected to be ableencourage participants to be ready to enter the world of work or develop an independent businessindustry skills based.

This training is also an opportunity to foster a spirit of collaboration between memberscommunity, strengthen networks, and build self-confidence in dealing withfuture work challenges.

This service activity received a warm welcome from the Sri Bayu communityApartment. They hope that similar activities can continue so that there will be moreMany local workers have competencies equivalent to industry needs.

Through this activity, LPKM UMI shows its commitment to supportimproving the quality of human resources across countries, while strengthening their roleuniversities in building international networks that are directly beneficialfor society.
