Increasing Literacy of Website-based Archive Systems at Village Officials at Buki Village Office, Selayar Islands

In the Community Service (PkM) activity which was held at the Buki Village Office, Buki District on Tuesday, October 1 2024, members of the Computer Science Faculty Service Team, namely Sitti Rahmah Jabir, S.M., M.Sc and Andi Widya Mufila Gaffar, S.T., M.Kom provided assistance to the community. This activity was carried out in order to provide education to village officials about the archives system that has been built through the website that has been built.

The archive management system in a number of village offices still uses conventional methods. These methods often encounter problems, such as being damaged, lost, or difficult to find again. This not only disrupts the smooth running of village government operations, but also has an impact on the quality of services to the community. Therefore, the service team from the Faculty of Computer Science implemented the project "Increasing Literacy in Website-Based Management of Archives Systems in Buki Village, Buki District, Selayar Islands" with the aim of providing training and assistance to village officials. The aim of this PkM activity is to ensure that the system built is in accordance with the wishes and needs of users and is able to utilize the information system that has been built.

The archival information system designed includes a number of important functions, such as managing incoming and outgoing mail, archive classification, and web-based mail reporting. This approach helps reduce the amount of paper used, numbers sent letters automatically, and makes it easier to search and maintain records. Thus, this approach not only increases efficiency but also ensures that records can be recovered in a timely and accurate manner.

It is hoped that the implementation of this program can improve the quality of services provided by the village government as well as the archive management system that is currently running. Regarding this matter, one of the village officials, Mr. Huzain, expressed his hope that this archive system could support village office operations to be more efficient and the service team could assist in utilizing the archive system.

Regarding the management of correspondence at the village office, the service team hopes that this activity can provide benefits to village officials and make it easier to manage. In the future, effective communication between service teams can be well established so that this system can continue to develop.
