PKM Training on Making Ecobricks from Plastic Waste as a Business Opportunity to Develop Ecoproducts with High Economic Value

Community Service Activities for UMI Lecturers were held in the Patappa Village Office Hall, Pujananting District, Barru Regency.

The Chief Executive of PkM Activities for UMI Lecturers in Patappa Village, Pujananting District, Barru Regency is Ir. Munira, ST., M.Eng accompanied by executive member Mr. Ir. Firdaus, ST., MT, who is a Mining Engineering lecturer at FTI UMI, and was accompanied by two UMI students. This activity was attended by several levels of society such as youth organizations, PKK mothers and the Village Consultative Body (BPD).

The implementation of this PkM carries the theme "PKM Training on Making Ecobricks from Plastic Waste as a Business Opportunity to Develop Ecoproducts with High Economic Value"

Munirasaid that Community Service Activities (PkM) in Patappa, Pujananting District, Barru Regency include providing education to village communities about the negative impacts of plastic waste produced by the community so that the community is able to increase awareness of the use of plastic so as not to pollute the environment. Apart from that, on this occasion training was provided on the use of plastic wasteecobricksto produceecoproductssuch as chairs and bookshelves/shoes.

Plastic is a material that is very difficult for nature to decompose, so utilizing plastic waste is a step forward in fighting environmental pollution.

Paradiseadding that through this training partners such as PKK women have new insights into creating business opportunities by processing plastic waste into goods with higher economic value and benefits.

This activity was also attended by the head of the Pujananting sub-district, Abdul Rahman. He expressed his appreciation for the activities carried out by UMI lecturers to provide education to the community.

"Hopefully this community service activity can continue to increase knowledge and overcome existing problems in the community, especially in Patappa village, Pujananting district," he said."
