
PKM Improving English Debate Skills Using British Parliamentary in the Supreme Court. Wihdatul Ulum
Bontokassi, Gowa โ A team of lecturers from several universities carried out Community Service (PKM) activities at Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Wihdatul Ulum, Bontokassi, Sandro Bone, Gowa Regency. This activity aims to improve students' English debate skills by using a formatBritish Parliamentary.
Participants in this activity are representatives of class X and XI students. They were very enthusiastic about taking part in this training, because apart from being able to deepen their English skills, they also gained new insight into good and correct debate techniques. Students also have the opportunity to practice the debate format through debate simulations that resemble official competitions.
The PKM proposing team consisted of Awaluddin Syamsu, S.Pd.I., MA.TESOL, Muhammad Syahrul, S.Pd., M.Pd, and Muhajir, SS., M.Pd., PhD. They realize the importance of English debate skills, both in academic and professional contexts, so they use the formatBritish Parliamentary, it is hoped that students will be able to hone critical thinking, argumentation and communication skills in English.
Awaluddin Syamsu, as the PKM team leader, said that this program not only focuses on developing English speaking skills, but also helps students build self-confidence and analytical thinking skills. "We hope that with this training, MA Wihdatul Ulum students can compete in regional and national level debate events," he said.
One of the participants from class XI expressed his enthusiasm for this training. "We are very happy to be able to take part in this activity, because apart from being able to improve our English skills, we also learned a lot about very useful debate techniques. We hope that this activity can continue in the future," he said.
This activity received a positive response from the school. Head of MA Wihdatul Ulum,Mrs. Arniah, S.E., S.Pd., appreciates the PKM team's initiative and hopes that similar activities can continue in the future. "We feel grateful for this training because it helps improve the quality of education in our school, especially in the aspects of communication and debate competitions," he saidArniah's mother.
This PKM program is part of an effort to improve the quality of education through collaboration between academics and regional schools, so that it can have a long-term positive impact on MA Wihdatul Ulum students.
This service program is funded by the UMI Community Care Institute. The goal is dedication to the built village. For this service, the service was carried out at a school in one of the villages assisted by UMI.
