
UMI Leadership Gathering with Bantaeng Regency Government Strengthens Synergy of Batch 77 Thematic KKN and Community Service
Bantaeng, 21/7/2026 โ University Indonesian Muslims (UMI) carry out friendship activities with the Government Bantaeng Regency in the context of the UMI Chancellor's working visit at the same time implementation of UMI Thematic Real Work Lectures (KKN) Batch 77 Academic Year 2025/2026. This activity is a momentum to strengthen synergy between universities higher education institutions and local governments in supporting education-based development, research, and community service.
This activity was attended by Regent of Bantaeng Regency, M. Fathul Fauzy Nurdin, M.I.Kom, and staff Bantaeng Regency Government. From UMI, the Chancellor of UMI, Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Talib, S.H., M.H. Chairman of the YW-UMI Trustees and Chairman of YW-UMI along with the members university leadership.
The event began with an introduction by the Chair of the UMI Community Service Institute (LPkM),Prof. Dr. H. Baharuddin Semmaila, S.E., M.Sc.In his introduction, he stated that The implementation of UMI's Thematic KKN is a real implementation of the tridharma of higher education high level, especially community service carried out through collaboration with local governments and various stakeholders.
Next, the Regent of Bantaengm Fathul Fauzy Nurdin, M.I.Kom. expressed his appreciation for UMI's trust which makes Bantaeng Regency one of the locations for implementing KKN Thematic. According to him, the presence of UMI students is expected to be able to provide real contribution through innovative programs that are in line with needs community and support regional development.
In his speech,UMI Chancellor Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Talib, S.H., M.H.confirms UMI's commitment to continue providing service that has an impact on society. He hopes students Thematic KKN participants can become agents of change who are able to apply it knowledge, building collaboration with the community, and providing solutions to various problems in the region.

Meanwhile,Chairman of the Foundation UMI Waqf Prof. Dr. Hj. Masrurah Mokhtar, M.A.convey that synergy between universities and local governments is a strategic step in producing graduates who not only excel academically, but also have social awareness and a spirit of service to the community.
A series of activities then followed by a public lecture held at the UMI Bantaeng Campus. Public lecture delivered byUMI Deputy Chancellor I, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Dirgahayu A. Lantara, M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng. In his presentation, he emphasized: the importance of improving the quality of human resources, strengthening innovation, as well as the role of universities in facing development challenges in this era digital transformation and globalization.
