Community Service Institute Lecturer Team (LPkM UMI) Conducts Health Cadre Training using the CEPAT Method in Reducing Hypertension Incidence

On Thursday, October 24 2024. Community Service Activities by a team of Lecturers at the Indonesian Muslim University Community Service Institute for Health Cadres in Sokkolia Village, District. Bontomarannu, Kab. Gowa with the title  PkM Optimizing Health Cadres through the FAST Method in Reducing the Incidence of Hypertension.

The Service Team are lecturers and students of the Nursing Science and Nursing Profession Study Program, Faculty of Public Health, Indonesian Muslim University. The Head of the Service Team is Akbar Asfar, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes. , M. Kep. : this activity is one of the tridharma of higher education with the aim of increasing the knowledge and competence of health cadres in checking, monitoring and anticipating the incidence of hypertension where the incidence of this non-communicable disease is increasingly high. With the FAST (Check, Monitor and Anticipate) method, it is hoped that there will be a reduction in hypertension sufferers, including complications that can arise, such as stroke and even kidney failure. This activity was attended by 30 health cadres in the Sokkolia Village area, Bontomarannu District, Gowa Regency.

The activity began with health education/education about hypertension, the FAST Method and an introduction to blood pressure measurement tools and complications that can arise from hypertension. Health Education was delivered by Ns Wa Ode Sri Asnaniar, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., M.Kep. Introduction to blood pressure devices and their use as well as training facilitated by Ns Sudarman, S.Kep., M.Kes., M.Kep. and assisted by members of the UMI Nursing student team. In this activity, blood pressure examination tools/tension meters were also handed over for use by the Sokkolia village community.

Mr Kaharuddin, S.IP Dg. Muang as the Head of Sokkolia Village really appreciates the activity and is grateful to the UMI LPKM Service Team because it will improve the health status of its residents and the competency of its health cadres and hopes that activities like this will continue to be carried out in the future.
