Improving Children's Nutritional Welfare, UMI Lecturer Creates Delicious Kebabs

Kebab bread is a new innovation that is rarely found on the market, consisting of vegetable bread, chicken, lettuce, cheese and tomatoes.

The presence of vitamins and nutrients in this kebab bread motivates Indonesian Muslim universities, especially the Faculty of Economics and Business FEB UMI, to get involved in community service as an integral component of the tri dharma philosophy of higher education.

The lecturer who carried out this initiative, Prof. Dr. Suriyanti SE MM, said that this effort is very important in conveying knowledge to preschool children regarding the need to consume nutritious food, especially considering that santri are an important segment of the nation, who are ready to take on leadership roles in the future.

Community service is carried out through the creation of gardens as an innovative product aimed at improving nutrition for the children of the Wihdatul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Bontokassi Village, Parangloe District, Gowa Regency.

Kebabs not only present a significant opportunity for entrepreneurship due to the large number of children who enjoy this type of food, but also because the necessary raw materials are easily accessible, serving as an alternative vegetable substitute for children who are reluctant to consume vegetables.

Together with Prof. Dr. Hj. A Niniek F. Lantara SE, MSi, Novia Suci Rahmadani, and Nurhidayah Jamaluddin, another important point emphasized by Prof. Dr. Suriyanti SE MM is that kebab preparation does not require special skills, and the market is mainly aimed at children and teenagers, with prices remaining affordable.
