UMI FAI Lecturers Carry Out Community Service Activities (PKM) in Tamangapa Village, Ma'rang District, PANGKEP Regency

UMI Makassar Islamic Faculty lecturers held PKM activities in one of UMI's assisted villages, namely Tamangapa village. PKM activities with the theme "The Existence of ZakatMall(treasure) Fish Pond Results as Potential Economic Strength of the Ummah" took place at the Nurul Iman Jami' Mosque, with the Nurul Iman Ta'lim Majlis partner, Tamangapa village.

The lecturers who were involved in implementing PKM all came from the Faculty of Islamic Religion, namely Dr. Said Syaripuddin Abu Baedah, Lc., M. HI, Dr. Wahyuddin Hafid, Lc., MA, and Jufri M. Zein, Lc., M. Pd. The lecturers took turns holding religious lectures on the provisions of zakat mall, in order to increase the insight of the members of the majlis ta'lim about knowledge of zakat in Islam.    

This PKM activity was attended by the Tamangapa village government represented by Tamangapa Village Imam Sayyid Abdullah, community leaders, and of course members of the Nurul Iman ta'lim council as partners in implementing the PKM.

In his speech, Sayyid Abdullah emphasized that in principle the village government responded positively and was grateful for this kind of activity. Because, this kind of PKM activity, especially with the theme of zakatmall"will increase people's insight and knowledge about the provisions of zakat in Islam," he said

Said Syaripuddin Abu Baedah as head of the PKM implementation team stated that the PKM implementation carried the theme of the obligation of zakatmallThe results of fish ponds cannot be separated from the social conditions of the Tamangapa village community, who generally work as fish pond farmers. He hopes that Majlis Ta'lim Nurul Iman, as a non-formal educational institution, will play an active role in providing education to the community in the village about the provisions of zakat.mallin Islamic law, hopefully.

Meanwhile, Wahyuddin Hafid explained the virtues of paying zakat in Islam. He put forward religious arguments regarding the nobility of the status of those who always pay zakat, and the threat to people who do not pay zakat.mall-his. He emphasized that people who are istiqamah in paying zakat on their wealth will be protected from various disasters and diseases in the world and protected from Allah's punishment in the afterlife. People who always pay attention to zakat on their assets will live their lives in harmony with their families, because they are protected from slander and deviations in behavior. On the other hand, people who are heavy and reluctant to pay zakat live far from blessings and peace, he explained.

Meanwhile, Jufri M. Zein's explanation of the material talks more about zakatmallFrom the legal aspect, he outlines the types of assets that must be given zakat based on the provisions of contemporary Islamic law, such as zakat on gold, silver and precious metals, zakat on money and securities, zakat on commerce, agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, zakat on mining, industry, zakat on work (professions), andrikaz.  He also explained the meaning of nisab and haul for the types of assets subject to zakat obligations.
