PKK group mothers in Paddinging Village, District. Sanrobone, Kab. Deep reasoningutilize the lemongrass plant which is widely cultivated by the local community.

Oncommemoration of the 61st anniversary of Takalar Regency in 2021, local governmentplanted a million lemongrass simultaneously in 10 sub-districts, including the sub-districtPadding, this is what causes Takalar district to become one of the districts withquite large cultivation of lemongrass plants in South Sulawesi Province. Lemongrass orCymbopogon nardus L, has many health benefits, one of which is:used as an antiseptic active ingredient because it has active compounds such as citronellal,citronellol, geraniol, which are known to have antibacterial activity against several bacteriasuch as Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli.

The service activity begins with providing education about the use of lemongrass plantsas an antiseptic. The next activity is training in making transparent soapan antiseptic based on citronella oil (Cymbopogon nardus L) which involves allparticipants from the PKK group mothers. Making transparent soap using the methodsimply by adding alkaline material (NaOH) or commonly known ascaustic soda with oil (coconut oil and lemongrass oil).

These ingredients are very easyobtained to make it easier for women from the PKK group to produce their own soapthis transparent. Apart from providing education about how to use and process oilLemongrass can be a health product, antiseptic transparent soap can be used as a productwhich is commercialized so that it can become an additional business that increases incomefamily.
