
Lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture and Bioremediation of Mining Lands Performs Community Service Through Empowering Creative Groups in Processing Cassava Crackers
Lecturers at the Faculty of Agriculture and Mining Land Bioremediation carry out community service activitiesto the community with the theme "Empowerment of Creative Groups in Cracker Processing."Local Ubikayu in Marusuโ. The community service implementation team consists of Ir. Rasmeidah, M.M. as team leaderand Dr. Ir. Saida, SP., M.Si as a team member, and involved two students, namelyRahmaniar 08220240007 and Dwina Adelia 08220240005. The main focus of this activity isimprove the skills and knowledge of Creative Farmers Group members in processingcassava and packaging improvements. This service program was attended by 27 farmers from the groupCreative farmers and the surrounding community in Temmappaduae Village, Marusu District, Regency
Maros.
This service activity is divided into three stages of activity. The first stage is counselingand training held on Thursday, September 18 2025. The material provided includestechnology for processing cassava products into chips with brown sugar and chocolate flavor variantsas well as packaging management of the product. This training was held starting in the morninguntil finished.
The second stage of activities continued with direct training on product processing and packagingcassava on Thursday, October 9 2025. Participants get direct practice in producingvarious processed cassava products, namely crackers with brown sugar and chocolate flavors and manageAttractive packaging to increase sales value.
In the third stage, an intensive mentoring program was carried out from September toOctober 2025. This assistance aims to ensure the implementation of existing technologytaught to run optimally and sustainably. According to Ir. Rasmeidah, M.M. as chairmanteam, this activity was welcomed enthusiastically by farmers and the community. โFarmers andThe community is very enthusiastic about taking part in this activity and hopes for activities like thissustainable," he said.
Apart from that, on this occasion, equipment assistance was also handed over to the GroupCreative Farmers to support increased production and sales of cassava products.Chairman of the Creative Farmers Group, Muhammad Arif, expressed his appreciation for the activityThis. "We really appreciate this program and hope that similar activities can be carried outcome back in the future to support the development of our farming business," he said.
This activity is a concrete manifestation of UMI's commitment through LPKM in supportingimproving the community's economy through community-based service programstechnology and innovation, which are expected to improve the welfare of farmers in the village areaTemmapadduae District.
