TOURIST GUIDE TRAINING FOR MANAGERS OF THE PANRITA HILL TOURISM AREA, ALEHANUAE DISTRICT, NORTH SINJAI DISTRICT, SINJAI DISTRICT, SOUTH SULAWESI PROVINCE
The Community Service Institute (LPkM) of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) held Tour Guide Training for the Community Around the Panrita Hill Tourist Area, Alehanuae Village, North Sinjai District, Sinjai Regency. This activity was carried out on October 4 2025, attended by 22 participants from the community around the tourist area, with the aim of improving their skills and professionalism in the field of tourist guiding.
The Panrita Hill area is known as one of the leading destinations in Sinjai Regency. The main attraction is the presence of a Kaaba-shaped prayer room which stands majestically on the top of the highest hill in North Sinjai District, making it a unique religious tourism icon with high spiritual value.
This training is part of the UMI community service program carried out by two lecturers from the Faculty of Industrial Technology, namely Agus Ardianto Budiman from the Mining Engineering Study Program and Taufik Nur from the Industrial Engineering Study Program.
In this activity, participants received material that refers to the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) Number 341 of 2017. The training material covers five main aspects, namely preparing tourist information, communicating information, guiding at tourist attractions, leading tourist trips, and following health, safety and security procedures in the workplace.
The chief organizer of the activity, Agus Ardianto Budiman, explained that this training aims not only to improve the community's technical skills, but also to instill awareness that tourism activities can be a means of da'wah, education and economic empowerment.
"Through this training, we hope that people can become reliable tour guides and be able to convey goodness and Islamic values to visitors to Panrita Hill," he said.
Meanwhile, Taufik Nur added that this activity is a form of synergy between the academic world and society in supporting the development of sustainable tourism.
"Good tourism is tourism that is not only naturally beautiful, but also provides social, economic and spiritual benefits for the surrounding community," he said.
Through this activity, UMI hopes that the local community can play an active role in managementPanrita Hill is a religious tourism area that is competitive, Islamic in character and insightfulenvironment, as well as being an example of real practice of higher education service forbenefit of the people.
