Increasing the Learning of Hijaiyah Letters Through Augmented Reality at TPA Darul Ilmi Selayar

Selayar, 1 October 2024 – The community service team from the Faculty of Computer Science, Indonesian Muslim University successfully carried out activities with the theme "Increasing Hijaiyah Letter Learning with Augmented Reality Technology for Children at Darul Ilmi TPA, Benteng Subdistrict, Selayar". This event was held on Tuesday, October 1 2024, at TPA Darul Ilmi and involved 30 students and a teaching teacher.


This activity was led by Irawati, S.Kom., MT., MTA., with team members Sugiarti, S.Kom., M.Kom., MTA., and Dedy Atmajaya, S.Kom., M.Eng. They introduced Augmented Reality (AR) technology as an interactive learning tool to make it easier for children to recognize hijaiyah letters. This technology is designed to create a more interesting and enjoyable learning atmosphere.


The Head of TPA Darul Ilmi, Mrs. Saturi, expressed her gratitude to the service team. "This technology provides great benefits for our students. With interactive methods, children can more easily recognize the hijaiyah letters, and the learning process becomes more effective and interesting," he said.


This program is part of community service activities which aim to utilize modern technology to support education, especially for children in the Selayar area. As a result of this activity, the service team created a smartphone-based application that utilizes AR technology to help children learn hijaiyah letters in an innovative and fun way.


This activity received a positive response from the local community. The full support provided shows enthusiasm for technology-based solutions in improving the quality of children's education, especially in the TPA environment.
