FIKOM UMI Team Holds Digital Security Workshop in Malaysia

The Indonesian Muslim University Faculty of Computer Science (FIKOM) Lecturer Team held an international service program at the Syeikh Mohd Idris Al-Marbawi National School (SK), Lubuk Merbau, Kuala Kangsar, Perak, Malaysia.

The program entitled "Digital Transformation and Online Safety" is led by three FIKOM UMI lecturers - Ihwana As'ad, Yulita Salim, and Huzain Azis - with full support from local teachers including the Principal Junaidah Binti Zainal.
"The digital era has changed the paradigm of global learning and interaction. However, increasing technology adoption also brings security challenges, especially for students who still need an in-depth understanding of cyber safety," said Ihwana As'ad, Monday (14/10/2024).

This interactive workshop presents various comprehensive materials, including an introduction to digital transformation, the impact of technology in everyday life, the importance of digital literacy, and security aspects in cyberspace.
The participants showed high enthusiasm throughout the event, actively involved in discussions and question and answer sessions. Teachers also expressed positive appreciation, emphasizing the benefits of this program in increasing digital awareness and cyber security among students.
Head of SK Sheikh Mohd Idris Al-Marbawi, Junaidah Binti Zainal welcomed this initiative. "This kind of program is very vital for students' development in facing the complexity of the digital world. We hope to continue to establish similar collaborations in the future," he said.

This activity confirms FIKOM UMI's commitment to contributing to international education, especially in preparing the younger generation to face the digital era. It is hoped that this cross-country collaboration can become a model for sustainable digital literacy development.
