UMI PKM Team Encourages Digitalization of Posyandu in Borisallo Village to Improve Health Services

GOWA โ€“ Digitalization of health services at village level Integrated Service Posts (Posyandu) opens up opportunities for faster, more accurate and efficient health data management. This can support improving the quality of public health services. Chair of the Community Service Team (PKM) of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI), Ir. Tanridio Silviati Delfina A, ST, MEng, emphasized this in the activities of implementing the digitalization system at Posyandu Melati I, Borisallo Village, Friday (25/10/2024).โ€จ

The event, which took place at the Borisallo Village Office, Parangloe District, Gowa Regency, was also attended by the Head of the Welfare Section, Nur Aida, village staff, community leaders, as well as Posyandu Melati I cadres and administrators. In his speech, Tanridio highlighted the strategic role of Posyandu in maintaining the health of mothers and children, especially in rural areas which often lack access to adequate health services.

โ€จ"Posyandu is at the forefront of providing basic health services, such as immunizations, maternal and child health checks, and nutritional education. However, the manual data collection systems that are still used, such as paper-based records, are often vulnerable to damage or loss of data," he said.

โ€จHe added that most Posyandu cadres do not have the skills to use digital technology. Therefore, through the UMI Community Service Institute (LPkM), the PKM team created a digitalization system specifically designed to support the recording and reporting of health data at Posyandu. This system is also accompanied by training and mentoring programs to increase digital literacy of cadres and village communities.โ€จ

"The main objective of this program is to ensure the availability of the Posyandu digitalization system and increase the capacity of cadres to utilize this technology. With better data management, health services can become more effective and efficient," he explained.โ€จ

Tanridio emphasized that this digital information system not only helps cadres in recording and reporting data, but also reduces the risk of errors due to manual processes. "This digitalization will reduce the manual workload and provide better data reliability for decision making regarding public health," he added.

โ€จHead of the Welfare Section Nur Aida, who represented the Borisallo Village Head, expressed his appreciation to the UMI PKM team. He assessed that this program not only provides technical solutions, but also improves the skills of Posyandu cadres and the community in utilizing technology.โ€จ

"We are grateful for the development of this digitalization system. This step not only strengthens the health system in Borisallo Village, but can also become a model that can be adopted in other areas with similar needs," said Aida.

โ€จThrough this innovation, Posyandu Melati I is expected to be able to become an example in the application of digital technology to support health services, while accelerating the transformation towards a more advanced and inclusive village.
