The UMI PKM Team carries out legal counseling at Madrasah Aliyah Darud Da'wah Wal Irsyad (DDI) Pangkep to reduce the rate of underage marriage due to promiscuity
Padang Lampe, 12 October 2024, Team of service lecturers at the Indonesian Muslim University chaired by Syamsul Alam, SH., MH together with members Dr. Jasmaniar, SH., MH and Yuli Adha Hamzah, SH., M.Kn carried out legal education activities entitled Increasing Awareness of Prevention of Underage Marriage Due to Promiscuity at Madrasah Aliyah Darud Da'wah Wal Irsyad (DDI).
The Implementation Team stated that various factors cause teenagers to fall into promiscuity, including:First, changes in social and cultural norms that influence the way individuals interact with each other; second, advances in technology, especially social media, which make it easier for teenagers to access pornography;third, inadequate sex education
The implementation team emphasized to the students of Madrasah Aliyah Darud Da'wah Wal Irsyad that the students' involvement in promiscuity could divert attention and time from studying, which could result in a decrease in academic grades due to a decrease in learning achievement and even dropping out of school. The solutions presented by the implementing team to prevent underage marriages resulting from promiscuity include religious education, building good communication with parents, carrying out useful activities such as being active in extracurricular activities at school, as well as increasing public legal awareness.
It is hoped that this activity can reduce the number of underage marriages due to promiscuity in Pangkep District, especially Padang Lampe Village, because by reducing the number of underage marriages it will also reduce various social problems in society such as poverty, unemployment which triggers crime, therefore this activity must be carried out sustainably.
