
Educational Transformation in the Digital Era: FIKOM UMI PkM Program in Takalar Regency
In order to improve the quality of education in the digital era, the Faculty of Computer Science, Indonesian Muslim University (FIKOM UMI) is organizingCommunity Service Program (PkM)as a form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. This activity involves active collaboration between lecturers and students, with the aim of supporting the development of the competence of teaching staff at the elementary school level.
The PkM team consisting of FIKOM UMI lecturers, namely Amaliah Faradibah, Poetri Lestari Lokapitasari Belluano, and Dewi Widyawati, together with students, carried outTechnical Guidance (Bimtek) IT Fundamentals. This training program is designed to equip teachers with technology skills in creating innovative and interactive learning videos.
According to Poetri Lestari, this training aims to provide teachers with insight into how to utilize technology software to produce effective learning media. "We guide the participants from the basics of video editing, adding graphic elements, to creating interesting content for elementary school students," he said.
This activity will take place intensively on 4-5 October 2024 at SDN Inpres 133 Pari'risi, Takalar Regency, with the support of the Community Service Institute (LPkM UMI). Amaliah Faradibah added that through this Bimtek, teachers are expected to be able to adapt to technological developments in the teaching process. "We want teachers to become more confident in using technology to deliver material creatively, so that students are more enthusiastic about learning," he said.
The Principal of SDN Inpres 133 Pari'risi, Rubama, welcomed this program. He assessed that the training had a significant impact on teachers in understanding and using technology. "This activity is very useful, especially to help our teachers who were previously less accustomed to using technology applications. Now they are more independent and creative in preparing teaching materials," he said.
