UMI Lecturer Inspires Islamic Boarding School Youth to Love Chocolate
Cocoa, which is the botanical source of chocolate, has many health benefits that apply to both parents and teenagers.
Chocolate comes from cocoa beans, which undergo processing into a variety of products, from solid candy to powdered formulations intended for drinks such as hot chocolate.
Considering the benefits of cocoa for human health, the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) in Makassar, especially the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB UMI), is carrying out community service initiatives in Gowa Regency.
Community service efforts which are an integral part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education are specifically carried out in Bonto Kassi Village, which is located in Parang Loe District.
Dr. Nur Wahyuni โโSE, MSi, Ak Salah, a mentor, informed the media that this initiative was implemented in a training format that focused on preparing Fried Chocolate Bread using bread flour, which aims to enrich the knowledge of students at MTS Wihdatul Ulum Pesantren, most of whom concentrate on Islamic Religious Education.
Collaborating with colleagues Prof. Dr. Suriyanti SE MSi, Novia Suci Rahmadani, and Nur Hidayah, Dr. Nur Wahyuni, who serves as a Senior Lecturer at FEB UMI Makassar, said that it is hoped that this training will be an incentive for the youth of Wihdatul Ulum Pesantren to develop a preference for chocolate drinks, as well as provide additional knowledge that can be profitable if they re-integrate into their community in the future.
