Lecturers at the Faculty of Public Health, Indonesian Muslim University carried out community service, precisely in Nipa-Nipa village, Manggala sub-district, Manggala sub-district. This service activity was attended by sub-district officials, namely the head of Manggala sub-district and also attended by 27 people, including community leaders and posyandu cadres.
This Community Service was carried out in collaboration with the Indonesian Muslim University LPKM. The lecturers and students involved in this activity came from the Public Health study program, namely Dr. A.Rizki Amelia AP, SKM., M.Kes as the head of this community service, and members from the midwifery study program, namely Sundari, SST., MPH and 2 other students.
During the community service implementation, the community was very enthusiastic in participating in this activity. Those who attended this activity were very enthusiastic in following the counseling material provided, the community even asked many questions regarding the material provided at that time. The information that the public received at that time included what to do if a flood disaster came to our environment and how the wedge occurred and the causes of the flood. In the Manggala sub-district every year there is a flood which is very worrying for the people who live at the flood point, because according to information from the residents, even during the long dry season, their area is flooded with water, and according to the service team's investigation, it turns out that this stagnant water is water that comes from a dam that is not far from the settlement of the Nipa-nipa village community. Apart from the outreach activities carried out by the service team, the service team also invited several children to play using game equipment that had been prepared by the service team. The children were very happy and enthusiastic when playing the games guided by the service team. This was useful for eliminating trauma in children due to floods which always hit the settlements of the Nipa-Nipa village residents.
The results expected by the service team through this activity are an increase in community knowledge regarding flood danger education by 80%, an increase in community knowledge regarding education regarding the causes and management of floods by 85% and the most important thing that is most hoped for is that by implementing trauma healing, children and the community can recover from trauma and be able to carry out activities as usual. As for handling floods as many as every year hit the Nipa-Nipa village community settlements.
