Community Service in Ecotourism Management Training and creative economy development for the people of Kapita Village, Kec. Bangkala, Kab. Jeneponto

The UMI Faculty of Economics and Business Lecturer Service Team through the Community Service Institute (LPKM) of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) Makassar held service activities for the international community in Kapita Village, Bangkala District, Jeneponto Regency.

The Assisted Village Service Team consists of Subhan, SE., M.Ak as chairman and Dr. Drs. Taupan, SE., MM  as members. This activity was carried out on November 9 2024 in Kapita Village, Bangkala District, Jeneponto Regency by providing education and training regarding ecotourism management with creative economic development for the community in the ecotourism area of Kapita Village, District. Bangkala.

Head of the implementing team, Subhan, SE., M.Ak, said, "This training was carried out because the team saw a phenomenon that occurred a lot. The phenomenon is that waterfalls at service locations often dry out during the dry season, so the community is expected to improve the surrounding environment with a tree planting program so that water availability can be improved when the dry season arrives." What we provide is education regarding land use which can be used in the productive sector by utilizing empty land to make a place that can be used as a tourist spot along with a waterfall tourist spot if there is a drought. We educate about the creative economy regarding the use of used materials which can be used as souvenirs for local and international tourist visitors.

After taking part in this activity, he continued, "it is hoped that it will be able to make natural tourism in the form of waterfalls an additional income for the community to become prosperous and open up employment opportunities in the surrounding area." he said.
